Liah Chuan-Mei Bosworth was born on June 13, 2000 in Jiangxi Province, China. She was adopted in 2001 and moved with her family to Louisville, KY. Her family relocated to Frisco, TX when she started kindergarten. They relocated to northern California at the beginning of her sixth grade year. She currently lives in Sunnyvale, CA with her parents and two sisters. Liah is the middle child. Her older sister, Alexis, plays volleyball while her younger sister, Macy, is a compulsory level gymnast. Liah is a senior at The Kings Academy and will graduate from high school in 2018.

When Liah was seven years old, her mother finally gave in to her begging to take a gymnastics class. After a trial class at Eagle Gymnastics Academy in Frisco, TX she was invited to join the competitive team. At the end of her level 3 season she competed one Level 4 meet and jumped into level 5. At the completion of her level 5 season, she moved to Elite Champion Gymnastics in Plano, TX. She remained there for just one year until her family relocated to the Bay Area in California at the end of her level 6 season. She started training at Airborne Gymnastics in Santa Clara, CA.

Liah moved up to level 7 for the 2012 season. She did really well at the NorCal State Championships where she placed third in the all-around with a 37.500 and second on vault and uneven bars. In 2013, Liah moved up to level 8. She placed second in the all-around with a 37.150 and first on vault and uneven bars at the NorCal State Championships. She qualified to the Region 1 Championships where she finished sixth in the all-around with a 37.350, first on floor exercise and third on vault.

As a level 9 gymnast in 2014, Liah finished fourth in the all-around and second on vault at the NorCal State Championships. At the Region 1 Championships, Liah placed eighth in the all-around and first on vault. She qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals in Boise, ID where she placed fifth in the all-around with a 37.350 and first on vault.

As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2015, Liah finished fifth on vault and eighth on uneven bars at the State Championships, qualifying to the Region 1 Championships. In 2016, Liah finished eighth in the all-around, second on vault and third on floor exercise at the State Championships. She scored a 9.500 on vault and 9.325 on floor exercise at the Region 1 Championships. In June 2016, Liah moved to San Mateo Gymnastics in Belmont, CA.

In 2017, Liah placed fourth in the all-around with a 37.675, first on vault and third on floor exercise at the State Championships. At the Region 1 Championships, she finished eighth in the all-around with a 37.450 and second on vault. Liah qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Indianapolis, IN.

Currently, Liah is preparing for the 2018 season as a level 10 gymnast. She trains 25 hours per week at San Mateo Gymnastics in Belmont, CA under coaches Armen Astoian and Oksana Bystrova. Liah would like to obtain a college scholarship to a D1 school.
