Elizabeth "Lily" Harsch was born on August 29, 2001 in Clyde, North Carolina to Richard and Jennifer Harsch. She has an older brother, Jackson and a younger brother, Owen. Lily is an honor student at W.A. Hough High School in Cornelius, NC and she will graduate in 2019. During Lily's spare time, she enjoys photography, baking cupcakes, and hanging out with her friends.

Lily's mother enrolled Lily in a gymnastics class because she was a very active toddler and her mom and her aunt had done gymnastics as kids. So, Lily started doing gymnastics in a Mommy and Me class in Asheville, NC before she turned three years old. A few months later, she took her first gymnastics class and got moved up to pre-team after that session ended.

Lily also did dance and soccer for a few years. When her parents noticed she was often doing cartwheels on the soccer field, they decided she might be more interested in gymnastics. Lily started competing level 4 right after turning six years old. She trained levels 4-7 in Asheville, NC with levels 5-7 being trained by Rebecca Hall and Kelley Mihok. After her level 7 season, she started training at Airborne Gymnastics with Team Olympia in Hendersonville, NC under coaches Mihai Lajos and Livy McDaniel.

After she moved to Olympia in 2011, Lily started competing as a level 8 gymnast for the 2012 season. At the State Championships, she finished eighth on floor exercise. In 2013, Lily continued competing level 8 where she finished sixth in the all-around with a 37.250, second on vault and first on floor exercise at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 8 Championships, finishing third in the all-around with a 37.675, second on vault and first on floor exercise.

Lily's family relocated to Davidson, NC in July 2013. Therefore, Lily started training at Everest Gymnastics in Huntersville, NC. Lily moved up to level 9 for the 2014 season. Lily finished fifth in the all-around and fourth on vault and uneven bars at the State Championships. She did really well at the Region 8 Championships where she placed third in the all-around with a 37.175 and fourth on vault and floor exercise. She qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals in Florida, finishing 11th in the all-around with a 37.050 and fourth on uneven bars.

As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2015, Lily placed fourth in the all-around with a 37.375, fourth on floor exercise and fifth on uneven bars and balance beam at the State Championships. At the Region 8 Championships, she placed 13th in the all-around and fifth on balance beam. She qualified to the Junior Olympic NIT in Des Moines, IA where she competed on bars and beam. In 2016, Lily finished second in the all-around and first on vault, balance beam and floor exercise at the State Championships. At the Region 8 Championships, she placed second on floor exercise and sixth on balance beam. She injured during warm-ups at Regionals and was unable to compete the last event.

In 2017, Lily earned a bronze medal on uneven bars with a 9.650 at the State Championships. At the Region 8 Championships, she finished first in the all-around with a 37.800, first on vault and second on uneven bars. Lily qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Indianapolis, IN, finishing 12th in the all-around with a 37.750 and fourth on uneven bars. In 2018, Lily competed at the Atlanta Crown Invitational on uneven bars and balance beam but was unable to compete rest of the season due to an injury.

Lily trains 25 hours per week at Everest Gymnastics in Huntersville, NC under coaches Qi Han, Yiwen Chen and Nikolai Cherchen. Lily would like to become a successful level 10 gymnast and to obtain a Division I college gymnastics scholarship.
