Mackenzie "Mac" Harman was born on April 6, 1999 in Raleigh, North Carolina to Will and Cara Harman. She has an older sister, Allyson, who is a student at North Carolina State University. Even though Mac is dedicated to her training & is the 2013 Level 9 NC State Beam Champion, Regional AA Silver Medalist and Eastern Nationals Qualifier, she has always been a well-rounded kid enjoying a variety of activity. During her spare time, Mac enjoys snow skiing, wake boarding, hiking, snorkeling and spending time with family and friends.
Currently, Mac is a senior at Cary Academy, graduating in the spring of 2017. She consistently achieves both Scholars Honor Roll and Effort Honor Roll in a rigorous academic program.
Beyond training and school, Mac and her family like to incorporate service into many of their experiences. In 2012, she spent two weeks in a remote village of the Maasai Mara in Kenya, helping build a school for the village children and learning about the Maasai culture. When Mac vacations, she and her family often provide a service to the community they are visiting. Locally, Mac likes to work at the Flower Shuttle (creating flower arrangements for people in nursing homes & hospitals) and participates in many service events through school, gymnastics and non-profit organizations.
