Welcome to the Official Website of Mackenzie Austin. She is a level 10 gymnast from High Point Gymnastics Academy in High Point, North Carolina. She is training under coaches Rob Travers, Jesse Travers and Buddy Thorburn.
In 2010 as a first-year level 10 gymnast, Mackenzie placed seventh in the all-around and second on floor exercise with a 9.500 at the Level 10 NC State Championships. At the Level 10 Regionals, she placed fifth in the all-around, qualifying to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Dallas, Texas. She was injuried most of the 2011 season and competed at the Level 10 Regionals that year. Mackenzie returned strong in 2012. At the State Championships, she finished 13th in the all-around and seventh on balance beam. She then placed sixth in the all-around, third on balance beam and fourth on floor exercise at the Region 8 Championships. This qualified Mackenzie to the Junior Olympic Nationals where she earned a silver medal on floor exercise out of 56 gymnasts. In 2013, Mackenzie finished fourth on balance beam and in the all-around with a 37.950 at the Level 10 Regionals. At the JO Nationals, she placed 12th overall and fourth on floor exercise.
Mackenzie is preparing for the upcoming 2014 season. She verbally committed to the University of North Carolina for the 2015-2016 school year. We hope you continue to support Mackenzie in the future.
