Madison "Maddie" McAfee was born on March 30, 2002 to Todd and Jamie McAfee. She has an older sister, Brooke who is also a level 10 gymnast. Currently, Maddie is a homeschooled sophomore where has a 4.0 GPA. She took 2017 National Latin Exam and got Cum Laude (High honors). When Maddie has time outside of gymnastics, she enjoys playing the cello, reading, swimming and hanging out with her friends.

Maddie followed her older sister into gymnastics when she was five years old. She has been training at Chapin Christian Gymnastics in Chapin, SC her whole gymnastics career. At the 2014 Level 6 State Championships, Maddie finished first in the all-around with a 37.700, first on uneven bars and second on balance beam and floor exercise. Maddie moved up to level 7 for the 2015 season where she finished first in the all-around with a 37.450, first on uneven bars and second on floor exercise. She qualified to the Region 8 Championships, finishing seventh in the all-around with a 38.075 and third on floor exercise.

As a level 8 gymnast in 2016, Maddie won the all-around title with a 37.000 at the State Championships. She also placed first on balance beam and second on vault, uneven bars and floor exercise. At the Region 8 Championships, Maddie finished in the top 15 in the all-around. She moved up to level 9 for the 2017 season. At the State Championships, she placed second in the all-around, first on vault and floor exercise and second on balance beam. Maddie had a great meet at the Region 8 Championships, finishing fourth in the all-around with a 37.050, second on floor exercise and fourth on balance beam. She qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals in Lansing, MI.

Maddie moved up to level 10 for the 2018 season. She placed sixth in the all-around and first on balance beam at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 8 Championships.

Maddie trains 20 hours per week at Chapin Christian Gymnastics in Chapin, SC under coach Millie Godines. Madison is working hard to become a successful level 10 gymnast where she hopes to qualify to the Junior Olympic Nationals. Her long-term goal is to obtain a college gymnastics scholarship.
