Makayla "Mikki" Green was born on January 9, 2003 in Vineland, NJ to William and Malika Green. She has a brother, William III, a dog named Sophie and a cat, Ghost. Currently, Makayla is an honor student at Oakcrest High School and she will graduate in 2021. When she has time outside of gymnastics, she enjoys track & field, biking, swimming, STEM club and drama club.

As a toddler, Makayla was very active and energetic. She would climb and jump on everything so her parents took Makayla to gymnastics for a recreational class. After Makayla's first trial class, she was invited to join the competitive team and gymnastics became her passion.

As a level 7 gymnast in 2013, Makayla won the uneven bars title with a 9.675 at the State Championships. She moved up to level 8 for the 2014 season where she placed seventh in the all-around with a 37.350 and sixth on uneven bars at the State Championships. At the Region 7 Championships, she finished ninth in the all-around with a 37.225 and second on uneven bars with a 9.600. Makayla continued competing level 8 in 2015. She placed first in the all-around with a 37.950 and second on uneven bars and floor exercise at the State Championships. At the Region 7 Championships, she finished second in the all-around with a 38.150 and first on uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise.

Makayla moved up to level 9 in 2016. She finished fourth on uneven bars with a 9.375 at the State Championships. At the Region 7 Championships, she placed third in the all-around with a 37.250 and second on uneven bars with a 9.550. Makayla qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals in Virginia Beach, VA where she placed in the top ten in the all-around.

As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2017, Makayla finished second in the all-around and second on uneven bars at the Region 7 Championships. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Indianapolis, IN where she placed 20th in the all-around 37.400 and seventh on floor exercise out of 56 gymnasts. Makayla had a good season in 2019 where she placed fourth in the all-around with a 37.600 and second on floor exercise at the State Championships. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Indianapolis, IN after finishing eighth in the all-around, first on vault and second on balance beam and floor exercise at the Region 7 Championships.

Makayla trains 24 hours per week at Bright Stars Gymnastics Academy in Egg Harbor Township, NJ under coaches Bonnie Petitt, Lexi Matus and Maribeth Mrugalski. She is working hard to become a successful level 10 gymnast and to obtain a DI college gymnastics scholarship.
