McClaine's mom enrolled her into Mommy and Me classes when she was 18 months old. She eventually joined pre-team at Champion Gymnastics Academy in Katy, TX. As a level 4 gymnast in 2011, McClaine finished second in the all-around with a 37.875 and first on balance beam at the Texas South State Championships. She moved up to level 5 in 2012 where she placed second in the all-around with a 38.475 and fourth on vault and balance beam at the State Championships.

In 2014, McClaine skipped level 6 and moved up to level 7. At the Region 3 Championships, she placed ninth in the all-around with a 37.350, fourth on vault and eighth on uneven bars. Following her level 7 season, she moved to AIM Athletics Gymnastics in Spring, TX.

As a level 8 gymnast in 2015, McClaine finished 23rd overall with a 37.350 and second on floor exercise with a 9.775 at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 3 Championships, finishing tenth in the all-around with a 37.525 and fifth on floor exercise scoring a 9.625. McClaine moved up to level 9 for the 2016 season where she placed fifth on floor exercise at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, she finished fourth in the all-around with a 37.950, fourth on balance beam and fifth on vault. She qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals in Montana, finishing 17th in the all-around, 12th on uenven bars and 13th on vault.

McClaine moved up to level 10 for the 2018 season. She placed sixth in the all-around and fifth on vault at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 3 Championships.

McClaine trains 34 hours per week at Champions Gymnastics in Richmond, TX under coaches Johnnie Rae Schmeizer and Eddie Umphrey. McClaine is working hard to qualify to Junior Olympic Nationals and to obtain a Division I college gymnastics scholarship.
