ABOUT MCKENZEE DANIELSON


McKenzee Danielson was a level 10 gymnast (Highest level in gymnastics before elite) when she retired in 2019. She trained at All American Gymnastics in Sioux Falls, SD for seven years. She was the 2018 Level 10 Regional Qualifier, 2018 Level 10 SD State All-Around Champion, 2017 Level 9 Western National All-Around and Balance Beam Medalist, 2017 Level 9 Regional All-Around Silver Medalist and 2017 Level 9 SD State Balance Beam Champion & All-Around and Floor Exercise Silver Medalist.

In spring of 2019, McKenzee decided to retire from gymnastics to pursue something new after experiencing a string of injuries. McKenzee tried out for and made the Harrisburg competitive cheer team and will compete in the 2019-2020 season. McKenzee plans to participate in High school gymnastics in the fall and track in the spring. McKenzee is a two-year varsity letter winner in Track and Field and qualified to the state tournament in each year. McKenzee is a versatile athlete who not only competes in the long jump and pole vault, she also helped three relay teams qualify to the state meet. In the spring of 2019 McKenzee was approached by the pole vault coach at her high school and asked to try pole vault. Two months after trying the event for the first time she went on to set her high school all time record at the state meet and tied for third place receiving 9th after the tie breaking rules. McKenzee’s goals for the 2020 season are to clear 13 feet.

McKenzee was born on June 22, 2002 in South Dakota to Chad and Delana Danielson. She has a brother, Levi, who is her biggest fan. McKenzee is an honor student at Harrisburg High School and she will graduate from high school in 2020. She was named Student of the Month each year throughout elementary school and middle school.
