Meghan Fitzsimmons was born on May 19, 2003 in Ohio to Michael and Alexis. She has a brother, Brian, two dogs named Bowser and Bubba, two horses, Chase and Smokey and a donkey named Tina. Currently, Meghan is a freshman at Bishop Ready High and she will graduate from high school in 2021. When Meghan has time outside of gymnastics, she enjoys horseback riding, show jumping, spending time at the farm and being with family and friends.
Meghan has always been a little daredevil where she was climbing out of her crib before she could walk. Her parents started her in gymnastics in 2006 to help her get some of energy out and to have fun. Meghan has been training at Universal Gymnasts, Inc. in Hilliard, OH her whole gymnastics career. As a level 4 gymnast in 2012, Meghan finished sixth in the all-around and third on uneven bars at the State Championships. Meghan moved up to level 5 in 2013 where she placed sixth in the all-around and second on balance beam at the State Championships. At the 2014 Level 5 State Championships, she placed third in the all-around, second on floor exercise and third on uneven bars.
In 2015, Meghan skipped level 6 and moved up to level 7. At the State Championships, she finished seventh in the all-around with a 37.425 and third on uneven bars. As a level 8 gymnast in 2016, Meghan qualified to the Region 5 Championships. She continued competing level 8 in 2017, finishing third on uneven bars and fourth on floor exercise at the State Championships, qualifying to Regionals.
Currently, Meghan is preparing for the 2018 season as a level 9 gymnast. She trains 20 hours per week at Universal Gymnasts, Inc. In Hilliard, OH under coaches Natalia Laschenova, Dave Anthony and Bill Widman. Meghan's long-term goal is to compete at the collegiate level.
