to the Official Website of Melissa Metcalf! She is a level 10 gymnast
from Desert Devils Gymnastics in Arizona training under coaches Wes
Jones, Geoff Eaton and Ashley Schwalb.
Melissa qualified to the JO Nationals in 2006, where
she finished 17th in the all-around. In 2007, she made the JO National
Team after placing fourth in the all-around and second on uneven bars.
Melissa qualified to junior international elite in February of 2008 at
the National Training Camp. In April, Melissa won the all-around title
at the 2008 Level 10 State Championships.
A few months after Melissa qualified to junior
international elite, she qualified to her first VISA Championships after
placing eighth in the all-around at the May Elite Qualifier. She then
finished 20th in the all-around and tied for eighth on uneven bars at
VISA Championships in Boston, MA. In 2009, Melissa was unable to compete
on all events all season due to an injury. Melissa concluded her 2009
season at the Level 10 State Championships, where she finished third on
balance beam and first on floor exercise. In 2011, Melissa earned bronze
medals on uneven bars and balance beam at the State Championships. Melissa had a great season in 2013. She grabbed gold medals on uneven bars, floor exercise and in the all-around at the State Championships. At the Level 10 Regionals, she placed first on uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around. Melissa finished fifth in the all-around, first on uneven bars and third on balance beam at the JO Nationals.
Melissa verbally committed to UCLA for the 2014-2015
school year. We hope this website will give everyone a chance to learn
