Mikaela Margaret Meyer was born on October 24, 1999 in Frederick, MD to John and Kim Meyer. Currently, Mikaela is a senior at Middletown High School. Her current cumulative GPA is a 4.0 and has earned Honor Roll every year since sixth grade.

Mikaela started taking gymnastics classes at the age of five at Frederick Gymnastics Club and has been there ever since. She made the National TOPS "B" Team in 2008 and 2009. As a level 7 gymnast in 2009, Mikaela finished third in the all-around with a 37.325 and fourth on vault at the State Championships. Mikaela moved up to level 8 for the 2010 season where she placed seventh on uneven bars and 11th overall at the State Championships.

In 2011, Mikaela only competed in three level 9 meets at the beginning of the season. She was unable to compete rest of the season due to an injury. She came back slowly in 2012 as a second-year level 9 gymnast. She earned a silver medal on balance beam with a 9.425 at the State Championships. She qualified and competed at the Region 7 Championships. In 2013, Mikaela finished second in the all-around, first on uneven bars and second on balance beam the State Championships. At the Region 7 Championships, she placed fourth on vault and sixth on floor exercise.

As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2014, Mikaela finished fifth in the all-around with a 36.825, third on vault and fourth on uneven bars at the State Championships. At the Region 7 Championships, she placed 13th in the all-around and eighth on uneven bars out of 39 gymnasts. In 2015, Mikaela finished fifth in the all-around at the State Championships. At the Region 7 Championships, she placed tenth in the all-around with a 37.575. She qualified to the Junior Olympic NIT in Des Moines, IA where she placed fourth on vault.

In 2016, Mikaela finished fifth in the all-around and first on vault and uneven bars at the State Championships. At the Region 7 Championships, she placed sixth in the all-around with a 37.650, third on uneven bars and fifth on vault. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Ft. Worth, TX where she placed fifth in the all-around with a 37.875 out of 56 gymnasts. She also placed 11th on uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise and 12th on vault.

Currently, Mikaela is preparing for the 2017 season as a level 10 gymnast. She trains 22 hours per week at Frederick Gymnastics Club in Frederick, MD under coaches Heather Galpin, Alana Lee and Tammie Mims-Jackson. Mikaela is working hard to become a successful level 10 gymnast as well as to compete for a college gymnastics team.
