Morgen Shambo was born on May 29, 2004 to Scott and Aly Shambo. She has a sister, Audrey. Currently, Morgen is an honor student at Monarch High School and she will graduate from high school in 2022. When she has time outside of gymnastics, she enjoys archery, writing and reading. She is very close to her family and enjoys spending time with them. She also reads to younger kids at a local library.

Morgen was encouraged to try different sports when she was younger. By the age of five, she decided that gymnastics fit her the best and joined the competitive gymnastics team at Mountain Kids Gymnastics in Louisville, CO. Following her 2012 season, she moved to Xtreme Altitude Gymnastics in Lafayette, CO where she trained until 2019.

As a level 7 gymnast in 2014 and 2015, Morgen qualified to the Region 3 Championships both seasons. She moved up to level 8 for the 2016 season where she placed third in the all-around, second on uneven bars and third on floor exercise at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, she placed fifth in the all-around with a 37.500 and fourth on uneven bars. In 2017, Morgen earned a gold medal on floor exercise and a bronze medal in the all-around at the Level 8 State Championships. At the 2017 Region 3 Championships, she placed third in the all-around with a 37.575, third on vault and fourth on uneven bars. Morgen did well in 2018 as a level 9 gymnast where she was the 2018 Level 9 Western National Alternate. She placed third on floor exercise and fourth on vault at the State Championships and fourth on uneven bars, sixth on floor exercise ninth in the all-around with a 37.025 at the Region 3 Championships.

In 2020, Morgen qualified to the Level 10 State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, Morgen had a great meet at the Region 3 Championships, finishing in the top ten in the all-around with a 37.550, fifth on uneven bars and sixth on balance beam in very tough group of competitors. This qualified Morgen to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Daytona Beach, FL where she placed ninth on balance beam out of 57 gymnasts!

Morgen trains 23 hours per week at Airborne Gymnastics in Longmont, CO under coach Melissa Luedtke. She is working hard to qualify to the JO Nationals the remainder of her JO career. Her long-term goal is to compete for a college gymnastics team.
