Nichole R. Guerrero was born on December 11, 1995 in Dallas, Texas to Rick Guerrero and Barbara Rayner. She has a younger sister, Corinne. She is also a gymnast at Zenith Elite Gymnastics. Currently, Nichole is a sophomore at Yorktown Education at SMU Plano (2011-2012). She will graduate from high school in 2014.
At the age of three, her parents enrolled Nichole into recreational gymnastics after being so active around the house. She began competing for World Olympic Gymnastics Academy (WOGA) in 2002 under coach Tatiana Schegolkova. Nichole has been training with Tatiana since she was five years old.
In 2002, Nichole competed as a level 4 gymnast at the Rising Stars Invitational. She moved up to level 5 in 2003. She finished second on balance beam at the Judges Cup. She placed fourth in the all-around at the Level 5 District Championships. In 2005, Nichole competed as a level 7 gymnast. She finished third on vault at the Cancun Classic. At the Level 7 State Championships, she placed third on vault, balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around.
Nichole moved up to level 8 in 2006. She finished third on vault at both the Go For It Classic and Kurt Thomas Invitational. She finished third on vault and 15th all-around at the Level 8 Regional Championships. Nichole competed as a level 9 gymnast in 2007. She finished third on vault and second on floor exercise at the Level 9 State Championships. Nichole then placed second on vault at the Level 9 Regional Championships.
In 2008, Nichole began competing as a level 10 gymnast. She competed at the National Judges Cup. In 2009, Nichole won the floor exercise title at the California Classic. She finished third in the all-around at the Rose City Classic. She placed in the top ten at the Level 10 Regional Championships. At the Junior Olympic National Invitational Tournament, she finished fourth in the all-around as well as third on uneven bars and floor exercise.
Nichole began her 2010 season at the Texas Prime Meet, where she placed second in the all-around. She won the vault title at the Kurt Thomas Invitational. She finished second in the all-around at the Level 10 State Championships. At the Level 10 Regional Championships, she placed 12th in the all-around and fifth on uneven bars. There, she qualified to her second JO National Invitational Tournament, where she placed 13th overall and second on vault.
In 2011, Nichole placed second in the all-around and first on vault at the Friends of Achievers Invitational. At the Metroplex Challenge, she placed fourth overall and first on vault. She traveled to California for the Gliders Invitational where she won the all-around title. At the WOGA Classic, she won the vault title as well as second in the all-around. She placed first on balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around at both Houston National Invitational and Zenith Spring Invitational. At the Level 10 Texas State, she earned a gold medal on balance beam and silver medals on floor exercise and in the all-around. Nichole finished second in the all-around, first on vault and third on balance beam at the Level 10 Regionals. There, she qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals where she finished 11th in the all-around, fifth on vault and fourth on balance beam out of 56 gymnasts.
Nichole started her 2012 season at the Friends of Achievers Meet, finishing third in the all-around and first on vault. At the Alamo Classic, she placed third in the all-around as well as first on vault and balance beam. She traveled to California for the Gliders Invitational, finishing third in the all-around and first on vault. At the AOGC Invitational, she earned gold medals on vault and in the all-around. She then finished first on vault and second on balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around at the Houston National Invitational. At the Zenith Spring Invitational, she placed first on vault, balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around. Nichole did really well at the State Championships, placing third in the all-around as well as first on vault and balance beam. At the Level 10 Regionals, she earned gold medals on vault, floor exercise and in the all-around. This qualified Nichole to the JO Nationals where she finished impressive fifth in the all-around and third on vault and balance beam.
Nichole trains 32 hours per a week at Zenith Elite Gymnastics Academy in McKinney, Texas. She is training under coaches Tatiana Schegolkova and Alex Atamas. Currently, she is preparing for the upcoming 2013 season as a level 10 gymnast. Nichole's long-term gymnastics goal is to compete at a top rank college gymnastics school.
