Nicole Marie Medvitz was born on April 29, 1995 in Ridgewood, New Jersey to Denise and Bob. She has two brothers, David (14) and Eric (12) and a dog, Benji. Currently, Nicole is a honor 11th grade student at Paramus High School. Outside of gymnastics, Nicole is a member of the Paramus Pacers dive team.
Nicole began gymnastics in 1999 at the age of four. Her mom enrolled Nicole and her brother in a class and Nicole was asked to be on a pre-team. Therefore, she began her gymnastics career at Eastern National Academy (ENA Paramus).
In May of 2003, Nicole competed as a level four. She finished second in the all-around, fourth on uneven bars and third on floor exercise at the Level 4 State Championships. She made the TOPS National Diamond Team that year. Nicole moved up to level five the next year. She finished third in the all-around at the Level 5 State Championships. She won the balance beam title and set a new state record.
Nicole competed as a level seven in the fall of 2004 to January 2005. She won the all-around titles at the Level 7 Sectional, Pumpkin Cup, Rutgers Classic and Christmas on the Chesapeake. She won the balance beam title at every meet. At the Level 7 State Championships, she won uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise and the all-around title! She began competing as a level eight in 2005. She finished second in the all-around at the Winterfest and third in the all-around at the Cactus Cool. At the Level 8 State Championships, Nicole won the balance beam title. Nicole was a TOPs "B" Team Member in 2004 and 2005.
She moved up to level nine for the 2006 season. Nicole placed second all-around at the Christmas on the Chesapeake and AOGC Invitational. She finished fourth all-around at the WOGA Classic and Parkette Invitational. Nicole won beam at several meets. At States, she finished fourth all-around and first on beam. She won beam at Regionals. She finished sixth all-around. At Easterns, Nicole placed second on beam.
Her second season as a level nine was in 2007. She won the all-around title at the Christmas on the Chesapeake meet. She finished third in the all-around at the Brestyan Invitational, Hilton Head Invitational and Excalibur Cup. She finished first in the all-around at the Gasparilla Classic. In addition, Nicole won the balance beam title at each of these meets. At the Level 9 State Championships, she won the all-around, uneven bars and balance beam titles. She qualified to the Level 9 Eastern National Championships. Nicole also competed as a hopes elite gymnast that same year. She competed at the US Challenge and American Challenge. She won a silver medal on balance beam at the US Challenge. Nicole missed her 2008 season due to an ankle injury. She came back in 2009 where she won uneven bars and balance beam titles at several meets. At the Level 10 Regional Championships, she won the balance beam title and qualified for the JO National Championships in Seattle, WA.
The 2009-2010 season started at Christmas on the Chesapeake. There, Nicole placed tenth in the all-around and fifth on balance beam. She then competed at Hills Classic where she finished fourth in the all-around and qualified for uneven bars and balance beam finals. In the event finals, she finished first on uneven bars and fifth on balance beam. Her team then competed at Parkette Invitational in the Open session. Nicole placed fifth on uneven bars, second on balance beam and 5th in the all-around. At the IGI Chicago Style meet, Nicole finished first on uneven bars and second in the all around. Level 10 States were held at Rutgers University in March where Nicole finished first on uneven bars with a 9.55, first on balance beam with a 9.575 and second in the all-around with a 37.475. She qualified for the Region 7 Championship in Chesapeake, Virginia. Nicole had another good meet finishing first on uneven bars with a 9.425, third on balance beam and second in the all-around. This qualified her to her second Junior Olympic National Championships in Dallas, Texas.
In 2011, Nicole placed eighth in the all-around and third on uneven bars at the Christmas on the Chesapeake. At the Hill's Maryland Classic, she placed first on uneven bars and sixth in the all-around. She placed ninth in the all-around at the Parkette Invitational and first in the all-aroud at the IGI Chicago Style. Nicole then traveled to Arizona for the Classic Rock Invitational where she placed second in the all-around and first on uneven bars. At the Twilight Knight Invitational, she placed first on floor exercise and second in the all-around. Nicole won the all-around title at the Level 10 State Championships. At the Level 10 Regionals, she placed first on balance beam and second in the all-around. There, she qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Long Beach, California where she placed 17th in the all-around and first on balance beam out of 57 gymnasts!
