Nicole Ann Coukart was born on June 23, 1999 in Johnstown, PA to Tom and Michele Coukart. She has two brothers, Zach and Anthony. Currently, Nicole is a junior at Portage Area High School and she will graduate in 2017.

When Nicole was eight years old, a neighbor encouraged her to try out for gymnastics. Nicole found her true passion and the rest is history. She has been training at Uzelac's Gymnastics in Johnstown, PA her whole gymnastics career. Nicole started competing as a level 4 gymnast during the 2007-2008 season where she finished first on balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around at one meet. She moved up to level 5 for one meet, placing first in the all-around at the Once Upon a Time Classic. She then started competing level 6 for the 2008-2009 season. At the State Championships, she placed seventh in the all-around, fifth on vault and fourth on uneven bars.

In 2010, Nicole finished fifth in the all-around, second on vault and first on uneven bars at the Level 7 Sectionals. At the Level 7 State Championships, she placed fourth in the all-around, first on uneven bars and sixth on floor exercise.

Nicole moved up to level 8 for the 2011 season. At the KUI, she placed third in the all-around as well as second on uneven bars and balance beam. At the Christmas City Classic in December, she finished third on balance beam and in the all-around. She swept gold medals at the Jingle Bell Rock. At the Katie Baldwin Invitational, she finished fifth in the all-around with a 37.400. Nicole then placed first on vault, uneven bars, floor exercise and in the all-around at the Fun in the Sun. At the Gymcatz Meet, she earned gold medals on everything, including in the all-around. She placed second in the all-around and first on vault and floor exercise at the Pink Invitational. At the Level 8 State Championships, she placed third in the all-around as well as fourth on balance beam and third on floor exercise. She qualified to the Level 8 Regionals, finishing second in the all-around and sixth on vault and floor exercise. She also helped the PA team to win the team title.

Nicole started competing as a level 9 gymnast in 2011-2012 season. In November of 2011, she placed first on vault, uneven bars, balance beam and in the all-around at the KUI. A month later, she placed fifth in the all-around and fourth on vault and floor exercise. At the Stars 'n Stripes Meet, she earned gold medals on vault, balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around. She placed first on vault and in the all-around at the Jingle Bell Rock. At the Katie Baldwin Invitational, she finished third in the all-around and first on floor exercise with a 9.775. Nicole then swept the gold medals at the Hugs 'n Kisses Meet. At the Pink Invitational, she finished second in the all-around as well as first on vault and floor exercise. She placed 12th in the all-around, eighth on vault and fourth on floor exercise at the Level 9 State Championships. Nicole did really well at the Level 9 Regionals, finishing second in the all-around and second on floor exercise. This qualified her to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals in Landover, Maryland. At the Nationals, she placed 16th in the all-around and ninth on floor exercise.

As a first-year level 10 gymnast during the 2012-2013 season, Nicole placed second on floor exercise and in the all-around at the Black-Eyed Susan Invitational. At the Kristal Uzelac Invitational, she finished fourth in the all-around and second on uneven bars. She had a great meet at the Nittany Invitational, finishing first on uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around. At the Parkettes Invitational, Nicole placed third in the all-around. At the Katie Baldwin Invitational, she grabbed gold medals on vault, floor exercise and in the all-around. Nicole did really well at the Dutch Classic where she finished first on balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around. She competed at the State Championships and Region 7 Championships.

In 2014, Nicole swept the gold medals at the Oz Classic and Jingle Bell Rock Invitational. At the Stars and Stripes Invitational, she placed third in the all-around and second on uneven bars and floor exercise. Nicole finished second in the all-around and second on uneven bars at the Parkettes Invitational. She placed in the top five at the Katie Baldwin Invitational and Dutch Classic. At the State Championships, Nicole finished sixth in the all-around and second on floor exercise. Nicole had a great meet at the Spring in the Mountain, finishing first in the all-around with a 37.200 and all events. She concluded her 2014 season at the Region 7 Championships, finishing fourth on floor exercise with a 9.600.

Nicole started her 2015 season at the Tim Weaver Invitational where she placed first on vault, uneven bars, balance beam and in the all-around. At the Wild Wild West Invitational, she swept the gold medals with the all-around score of 37.000. Nicole was unable to compete rest of the season due to an injury.

Nicole trains over 20 hours per week at Uzelac's Gymnastics in Johnstown, PA. She is training under coaches Brenda Uzelac, Kristal Uzelac and Marcus Gaunt. Kristal Uzelac was three-time Junior US National Champion in 1999-2001 and was the only junior gymnast ever to win three consecutive titles. Currently, Nicole is preparing for the upcoming 2017 season as a level 10 gymnast. Her long-term goal is to obtain a college scholarship to a Division 1 school.
