Nina began recreational gymnastic when she was five years old. At that time, she also did other sports and activities, such as dance and softball. Gymnastics just seemed to be a natural fit. A few months later, Nina was invited to join the pre-team program. The following year, one of the team coaches asked Nina if she would like to train with the team girls. She said “yes” and the rest is history. Nina competed in her first USAG meet as a level 4 gymnast when she was seven years old.
Nina was the 2014 Level 5 State Uneven Bars and All-Around Silver Medalist, 2015 Level 7 State Balance Beam Silver Medalist, 2016 Level 8 Balance Beam Bronze Medalist and 2016 Level 8 Regional Qualifier. Nina moved up to level 9 for the 2017, qualifying to the State Championships. She was unable to compete in 2018 due to an injury and moved to Aerial Gymnastics Club in Downers Grove, IL. In 2019, Nina finished fifth on floor exercise and eighth on balance beam at the State Championships and qualified to the Region 5 Championships.
While training 24 hours in the gym every week, Nina maintains a 3.8 GPA and she is a first honors student at Resurrection College Prep High School. She is a member of National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society and Mother Celine Scholar. Nina enjoys spending time with her friends and family and listening to music when she has time outside of gymnastics and school. She volunteers at Yoga Club and Animal League.
