Olivia Rose Zona was born on October 21, 1999 in Newton, MA to Daniel and Marcia Zona. She has an older sister, Gabrielle and a toy poodle named Bella. During her spare time, she enjoys photography, reading, shopping and hanging out with her friends. Currently, Olivia is a senior at Shrewsbury High School and she will graduate from high school in 2018. She earned high honors with a cumulative GPA of 4.17.
Olivia has been training at Gymnastics Learning Center her whole gymnastics career. She competed as a level 5 gymnast in 2009 where she placed third in the all-around and first on vault. In 2010, she finished sixth in the all-around and second on uneven bars at the Level 6 State Championships. As a level 7 gymnast in 2011, Olivia finished fourth on floor exercise at the State Championships.
As a level 8 gymnast in 2012, Olivia placed fourth on floor exercise and fifth on vault at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 6 Championships where she won the all-around title with a 37.225 and placed first on vault, second on floor exercise and third on balance beam. In 2013, Olivia moved up to level 9 where she qualified to the Region 6 Championships, finishing fifth on balance beam. Olivia continued competing level 9 for the 2014 season. At the Region 6 Championships, Olivia finished second in the all-around, first on floor exercise and third on balance beam. This qualified Olivia to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals where she placed first on floor exercise and 15th in the all-around.
As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2015, Olivia finished ninth in the all-around at the Region 6 Championships and qualified to the Junior Olympic NIT in Des Moines, IA. In 2016, Olivia finished fourth on balance beam and fifth on uneven bars at the State Championships. At the Region 6 Championships, she placed second in the all-around, third on balance beam and fourth on uneven bars. Olivia qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Ft. Worth, TX. In 2017, Olivia placed second on floor exercise with a 9.650 at the State Championships. At the Region 6 Championships, she finished fourth in the all-around with a 37.100 and third on vault and balance beam. Olivia qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Indianapolis, IN where she placed 28th overall with a 37.350 out of 57 gymnasts.
Currently, Olivia is preparing for the 2018 season as a level 10 gymnast. She trains 24 hours per week at 10.0 Academy of Gymnastics in Stow, MA training under coaches Dave and Christalle Auger. Olivia is working hard to reach her long-term goal to obtain a college scholarship to a Division 1 school.
