Rachel Elizabeth Daum was born on February 16, 1995 in Kileen, Texas. She has a twin brother, Freddy and a miniature schnauzer, Darcie. Currently, Rachel is a junior at National Connection Academy. She will graduate from high school in 2013. During Rachel's spare time, she likes reading, swimming, shopping and hanging out with family and friends.

At the age of five, Rachel's mom put her and her twin brother into many activities and Rachel excelled in gymnastics. At the beginning of her gymnastics career, Rachel trained at Acrotex Gymnastics. In 2002 and 2003, she was a member of the Diamond Level TOPs National Team. She made the National Tops Team in 2004.

Rachel competed as a level eight gymnast in 2005. She finished fifth on floor exercise at the WOGA Classic. At the Level 8 Regionals, she finished 18th in the all-around and eighth on floor exercise. She again made the National TOPs Team in the fall. In 2006, she moved up to level 9. She won uneven bars, floor exercise and the all-around at the NAWGJ Judges Cup. At the Level 9 State Championships, she finished 17th in the all-around and fifth on balance beam. She finished third on floor exercise at the Level 9 Regionals. After Rachel's 2006 season concluded, she began training at Capital Gymnastics. She made her third National TOPs Team in the fall.

In 2007, she finished fourth in the all-around at the Stars Elite Qualifier and May Elite Qualifier, where she qualified to hopes pre-elite. At the American Challenge, she finished 9th in the all-around. Rachel concluded her 2007 season at the US Challenge, where she placed fourth in the all-around and second on floor exercise. Rachel then moved to Stars Gymnastics to train under coaches Dan and Ashley Baker. In 2008, she only competed in one competition, Parkettes Invitational and placed eighth in the all-around.

Rachel competed as a level 10 gymnast in 2009. She placed second on uneven bars at the National Judges Cup. At the Level 10 Regionals, she placed sixth in the all-around and third on floor exercise. There, she qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals, where she placed in the top twenty all-around. At the Palm Beach Invitational, she earned her junior international elite optional score. She earned her compulsory international elite score at the Region 3 Elite Qualifier. She concluded her 2009 season at the US Covergirl Classic.

In 2010, Rachel began her season at the Metroplex Challenge and finished 18th overall. At the Arizona National Elite Qualifier, she qualified to junior international elite after finishing 12th in the all-around. She then traveled to Florida for the Bieger's National Elite Qualifier, where she finished second in the all-around and first on vault. There, she qualified to the VISA Championships in Hartford, CT. In July, she competed in both Texas National Elite Qualifier and US Covergirl Classic. At the VISA Championships, Rachel finished 29th in the all-around and 12th on vault.

Rachel decided to solely compete level ten in 2011. She began her season at the Pikes Peak Cup where she placed fourth on vault. At her next meet, the WOGA Classic, she placed third on beam and fourth on floor. Rachel then won vault at the Houston National Invitational. She began the championship season by scoring a career high 38.400 at the Level 10 State Championships, good for second place. On the individual events, she placed first on vault with a 9.825 and first on floor with a 9.725. Rachel then competed at the Level 10 Regional Championships, where she won vault with a 9.850 and floor with a 9.650. She finished third on beam and fourth on bars. In the all-around standings, she totaled another 38.400 for second place. She ended her season at the JO National Championships in Long Beach, California. Rachel won vault with a 9.750 and floor with a 9.650.

Rachel trains 37 hours per a week at Stars Gymnastics training under coaches Dan Baker, Ashly Baker and Debbie Kaitchuck. She is preparing for upcoming 2012 season as a level 10 gymnast.
