Riley Morgan Danielson was born on March 14, 2000 in Edina, Minnesota to Steve and Dayna Danielson. She has an older sister, Brooke and a younger brother, Cole. Currently, Riley is a senior at Waconia Senior High School and she will graduate in 2018. Her cumulative GPA is a 4.0 and she received Academic All-Star Awards all three years when she was in middle school. During Riley's spare time, she enjoys dance, art and the outdoors.

Riley grew up with her mom running a Dance Studio out of their home since the age of two. Even though she loved to dance, her mom could not keep her from practicing cartwheels during class. So, at the age of four, Riley's mom decided to also place her in a little tumblers class to channel all of her energy. After one session, her parents were asked if Riley would be interested in trying out for the team program. Riley has been training at Legacy Gymnastics since she was in level 6.

As a level 7 gymnast in 2012, Riley finished second in the all-around with a 38.225, first on vault and second on floor exercise at the State Championships. She moved up to level 8 for the 2013 season where she earned a bronze medal on balance beam at the State Championships. Riley qualified to the Region 4 Championships, finishing second in the all-around with a 37.525 and second on vault, balance beam and floor exercise.

Riley moved up to level 9 for the 2014 season. At the State Championships, Riley finished fourth on balance beam. She had a great meet at the Region 4 Championships where she brought home silver medals on vault, uneven bars, balance beam and in the all-around with a 37.200. This qualified Riley to the Level 9 Western Nationals in Boise, ID. where she placed 15th in the all-around and ninth on balance beam.

As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2015, Riley placed in the top 15 in the all-around at the State Championships. At the Region 4 Championships, she placed ninth in the all-around and second on balance beam. She qualified to the Junior Olympic NIT in Des Moines, IA where she placed sixth on balance beam. In 2016, Riley earned a silver medal on balance beam at the State Championships. At the Region 4 Championships, she placed seventh in the all-around, third on balance beam and fourth on vault. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Ft. Worth, TX.

In 2017, Riley finished seventh on vault and balance beam scoring a 9.275 and 9.325 at the State Championships. At the Region 4 Championships, she finished fourth on vault with a 9.325 and seventh on floor exercise.

Currently, Riley is preparing for the 2018 season as a level 10 gymnast where she hopes to qualify to the Junior Olympic Nationals. She trains 25 hours per week at Legacy Gymnastics in Eden Prairie, MN under coaches Kari & Will Vaughn, Heidi Mastro and Travis Cherrier. Riley's long-term goal is to obtain a college scholarship to a Division 1 school.
