Riley McPartland was born on February 15, 2006 in New York to James and Jill McPartland. She has a brother, James and two dogs named Lucy and Molly. Currently, Riley is an honor student at Sagamore Middle School and she will graduate from high school in 2024. She has awards in Presidential Outstanding Academic Achievement and Presidential Outstanding Academic Excellence.

Riley's mom enrolled her into a gymnastics class for fun when she was five years old. She fell in love with the sport and has been training at Nastics Inc in Holbrook, NY her whole gymnastics career. She started competing level 3 in 2014 where she placed fifth in the all-around with a 37.500 and second on uneven bars at the State Championships. Riley skipped level 4 and level 5 and quickly moved up to level 6 for the 2015 season. At the 2015 Level 6 State Championships, she placed fifth on floor exercise with a 9.400. At the 2016 Level 6 State Championships, Riley finished fourth in the all-around with a 37.125, first on balance beam and third on vault.

Riley competed level 7 the next two seasons. She qualified to the 2016 State Championships. In 2017, she placed fifth on floor exercise with a 9.350 at the State Championships. Riley moved up to level 8 for the 2018 season. At the State Championships, she placed fourth in the all-around and first on vault. She qualified to the Region 6 Championships where she finished fifth in the all-around and first on vault and floor exercise.

Riley trains 19 hours per week at Hotshots Gymnastics in Plainview, NY under coaches Michael and Melissa Venezia. She is working hard to qualify to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals in 2019. Her long-term goal is to compete for a college gymnastics team.
