Rylie Mundell was born on October 1, 2001 in Denver, CO. She is the oldest of four children to Jason and Robin Mundell and she has a brother, Jackson and two sisters, Ashlyn and Avery. During Rylie's spare time, she enjoys reading, experimenting in the kitchen, camping and taking care of her aquarium and dog.

Never one to remain standing upright at any given point in time, Rylie persuaded her parents to let her try out a gymnastics class when she turned five. Rylie began her gymnastics career at Peak Athletics Plus in Highlands Ranch, CO. While there, she won the floor exercise title at the 2013 Level 7 State Championships. Following her level 7 season, she began training at Colorado Gymnastics Institute in Aurora, CO.

In 2014, Rylie skipped level 8 and started competing level 9. She grabbed gold medals on vault, uneven bars and in the all-around with a 37.625 at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, she placed ninth in the all-around with a 37.375 and sixth on uneven bars, qualifying to the Level 9 Western Nationals in Boise, ID.

As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2015, Rylie placed eighth in the all-around and fifth on vault and floor exercise at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, she placed ninth in the all-around and third on uneven bars. This qualified Rylie to the JO NIT in Des Moines, IA where she placed second on vault and third on uneven bars.

In 2016, Rylie had a great meet at the Pikes Peak Cup where she finished second in the all-around with a 38.100 and secured a spot to the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup in Newark, NJ. At the State Championships, Rylie finished second in the all-around with a 37.550, first on uneven bars and third on balance beam. At the Region 3 Championships, she placed eighth in the all-around with a 37.625, first on uneven bars and fifth on vault. Rylie qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Ft. Worth, TX where she placed fifth on balance beam out of 57 gymnasts. In 2017, Rylie qualified to the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup where she placed seventh in the all-around with a 37.950 in the senior session. At the State Championships, she finished first on uneven bars, balance beam and in the all-around with a 38.350. Rylie placed first in the all-around with a 38.275 and first on balance beam at the Region 3 Championships. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Indianapolis, IN where she placed 17th in the all-around, first on uneven bars, fifth on balance beam and seventh on vault.

Rylie qualified to Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup again in 2018 where she placed 13th overall with a 38.000 in the senior division. She earned gold medals on vault, uneven bars, floor exercise and in the all-around with a 38.350 at the 2018 State Championships. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals after finishing third in the all-around and second on vault and uneven bars at the Region 3 Championships. At the JO Nationals in Cincinnati, OH, Rylie placed in the top 15 in the all-around with a 37.750 and second on balance beam. In 2019, Rylie won the all-around titles at the State Championships (38.450) and Region 3 Championships (38.725). She made the Junior Olympic National Team after finishing fourth in the all-around with a 38.675 and sixth on vault, balance beam and floor exercise at the Junior Olympic Nationals in Indianapolis, IN.

Rylie trains 26 hours per week at Colorado Gymnastics Institute in Aurora, CO under coaches Vinicio Leira, Sonia Leira and Lindy Franzini. Rylie will join the University of Denver gymnastics team during the 2020-2021 school year.
