Savana Mikala Mae Kotas was born on March 29, 2001 in Mount Pleasant, MI to Paul and Ann Kotas. She has three brothers, Bryson, Orion and Rigel, three dogs, two cats and chickens. During Savana's spare time, she enjoys jumping on the trampoline, swimming and reading.

Currently, Savana is a junior at Greenbrier High School and will graduate from high school in 2019. Her current cumulative GPA is a 4.0 and is on "A" Honor Roll. Savana is a member of her church youth group and helps with church services/organizations, such as Solace for the Children.

Savana was constantly flipping over furniture, so her parents enrolled her into gymnastics for fun when she was six years old. She fell in love with the sport and started her competitive gymnastics career at Hayden's Gymnastics Academy in Evans, GA. In the summer of 2011 after her level 6 season, Savana's family moved to South Carolina where Savana started training at Aiken Gymnastics.

As a level 7 gymnast in 2012, Savana finished second in the all-around, first on uneven bars and second on floor exercise at the State Championships. She had a great meet at the Region 8 Championships where she placed second in the all-around with a 37.400 and first on uneven bars and balance beam.

In 2013, Savana moved up to level 8. She finished sixth in the all-around and third on balance beam at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 8 Championships and placed eighth in the all-around and first on uneven bars and balance beam. Savana only competed in one level 8 meet in 2014 due to an injury. She finished second in the all-around and first on uneven bars and floor exercise at the Made in the USA Invitational. In the summer of 2014, Savana's family moved back to Georgia where Savana returned to Hayden's Gymnastics in Evans, GA.

Savana moved up to level 9 for the 2015 season. At the State Championships, she placed first on uneven bars and second on balance beam and in the all-around and qualified to the Region 8 Championships. In 2016 as a second-year level 9 gymnast, Savana finished first in the all-around, first on uneven bars and second on floor exercise at the State Championships. At the Region 8 Championships, she placed third in the all-around and first on uneven bars. She qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals in Virginia Beach, VA where Savana placed in the top ten in the all-around and second on uneven bars and balance beam.

In 2017 as a first-year level 10 gymnast, Savana finished seventh on uneven bars with a 9.450 and 14th overall with a 36.075 at the Region 8 Championships.

Currently, Savana is preparing for the 2018 season. She trains about 20-24 hours per week at Hayden's Gymnastics in Evans, GA under coaches Daniel Hayden, Christy Nelson and Craig Kirby. Savana is working hard to become a successful level 10 gymnast as well as to obtain a Division I college gymnastics scholarship.
