Catour attends USA National Team Training Camp

Ahwatukee Foothills resident Stefani Catour was invited by Marta Karolyi to attend the USA National Team Training Camp at Karolyi's Ranch in Houston, Texas, Jan. 21 to 25. She, along with Mykayla Skinner of Gilbert, train at Chandler-based Desert Lights Gymnastics. They were the only two gymnasts from Arizona selected to attend the camp.

The camp will include Olympians Nastia Liukin and Samantha Peszek, as well as many of the gymnasts that competed in the 2008 Olympic Trials.

Catour, 12, is part of a group of young gymnasts being groomed for the 2012 Olympics, as well as other international competitions that will occur between now and then. She was part of the 2007 TOPS National Team and competed in the U.S. Challenge in Houston last May, where she medaled on vault, floor and in the all-around.
