Tory Vetter was born on March 31, 2003 in Hilliard, OH to Bruce and Melissa Vetter. She has a brother, Mitch, a sister, Tessa and a Bischon-Shitzu named Teddy. Currently, Tory is an honor student at Hilliard Davidson High School and she will graduate in 2021. When she has time outside of gymnastics, she enjoys baking, dancing, painting nails, wakeboarding and jetskiing.
Tory was a cheerleader for her brother’s football team and she liked the flipping part the best, so Tory's mom signed her up for gymnastics when she was four years old. She started her gymnastics career at Universal Gymnasts, Inc. in Hilliard, OH and has been there ever since. As a level 5 gymnast in 2011, she placed fifth in the all-around and second on balance beam and floor exercise at the State Championships. She moved up to level 6 for the 2012 season where she placed second in the all-around and first on balance beam and floor exercise at the State Championships.
In 2013 as a level 7 gymnast, Tory finished sixth in the all-around, first on floor exercise and third on balance beam at the State Championships. She moved up to level 8 for the 2014 season. She won the all-around title with a 37.950 and finished first on vault and balance beam and third on floor exercise at the State Championships. She had the highest all-around score of the meet for all age groups. She qualified to the Region 5 Championships where she placed seventh on floor exercise and eighth on balance beam.
As a first-year level 9 gymnast in 2015, Tory placed seventh in the all-around, first on vault and second on balance beam at the State Championships. At the Region 5 Championships, she finished third in the all-around with a 38.200 and first on uneven bars and floor exercise. She qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals in Kissimmee, FL where she finished sixth in the all-around with a 37.425, third on uneven bars and balance beam and fifth on floor exercise.
Tory continued competing level 9 in 2016. She placed first in the all-around with a 38.075 and first on vault, balance beam and floor exercise at the State Championships. Tory had a great meet at the Region 5 Championships where she finished first in the all-around with a 38.325 as well as first on floor exercise, second on uneven bars and balance beam and fourth on vault. She qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals in Virginia Beach, VA for the second time. At Nationals, she won the all-around title with a 38.050 and had the highest all-around score in all age groups! She also finished second on balance beam, third on uneven bars and floor exercise and fifth on vault. Tory was invited to train at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Huntsville, TX and was nominated by International Gymnast Magazine’s Gymnast of the Year Award.
Tory was unable to compete in 2017 due to an injury.

Currently, Tory is preparing for the 2018 season as a level 10 gymnast. She trains 20 hours per week at Universal Gymnasts, Inc. in Hilliard, OH under coaches Dave Anthony, Natalia Laschenova and Bill Widman. Tory is working hard to qualify to the JO Nationals and to obtain a Division I college gymnastics scholarship.
