Aaliyah was doing gymnastics before she even knew what gymnastics was. Even before the age of three, Aaliyah would use anything and climb in and out of it, she would use the arms of chairs and hold herself up with straight arms as if it were the bars. She would hold herself up on her uncle’s hands - straight arms holding herself up and balancing. Her parents just knew this was her area to shine. At the beginning of Aaliyah's gymnastics career, she trained at Gold Medal Gymnastics Center - Centereach in New York until 2020.
Aaliyah was the 2017 Level 4 NY State Vault & Uneven Bars Bronze Medalist. As a level 5 gymnast in 2018, she placed ninth in the all-around and fifth on vault at the State Championships. She skipped level 6 and quickly moved up to level 7 for the 2019 season. She earned a bronze medal on vault and placed fifth on floor exercise at the State Championships. In 2020, Aaliyah qualified to the Level 8 State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic. In September 2020, Aaliyah moved to Apex Athletics in St. James, NY.
Aaliyah was born on May 16, 2008 in New York to Roy and Dawn Morrow. She has a sister, Mariah and two older brothers, Khalif and Roy. When Aaliyah has time outside of gymnastics, she enjoys spending time with her family, reading and sketching. She is an ambassador for Sarano Style Inc, a leo company. Aaliyah aspires to become an elite gymnast and eventually to obtain a Division 1 college gymnastics scholarship.
