Alessa followed her older sister into gymnastics when she was a toddler. She has been training at Colorado Gymnastics Institute in Aurora, CO her whole gymnastics career. She was the 2013 Level 4 CO State All-Around Champion (38.000), 2014 Level 5 CO State Balance Beam, Floor Exercise and All-Around Champion (38.075), 2015 Level 7 CO State All-Around Bronze Medalist (38.050) and 2015 Level 7 Regional Qualifier. Alessa was named to America's Top 100 on balance beam (L5, L7) and floor exercise (L5).
As a level 8 gymnast in 2016, Alessa placed fifth in the all-around with a 37.350 at the State Championships, qualifying to Region 3 Championships. In 2017, Alessa finished third in the all-around and fourth on vault and floor exercise at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, Alessa placed fourth on vault and sixth on uneven bars and floor exercise. Alessa moved up to level 9 for the 2018 season. She placed fourth on floor exercise at the State Championships and eighth on balance beam at the Region 3 Championships. Alessa was named to America's Top 100 on balance beam with a 9.700 in level 9.
In 2019, Alessa finished third on floor exercise at the Level 9 State Championships. She qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals after finishing first in the all-around with a 37.250 and second on balance beam and floor exercise at the Region 3 Championships. At the Western Nationals in Spokane, WA, Alessa placed seventh on balance beam. Alessa moved up to level 10 for the 2020 but was unable to compete at the State Championships due to COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, Alessa placed sixth in the all-around and fourth on vault and balance beam at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 3 Championships.
Alessa placed second in the all-around and second on vault at the 2022 Level 10 State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, she finished fifth in the all-around and fourth on balance beam. Alessa qualified to the Level 10 National Championships in Mesa, AZ.
When Alessa isn't busy training over 20 hours each week in the gym, she enjoys painting during her spare time. She is the daughter to Jackson and Lynn Louie and she has a brother, Alexander and a sister, Alyson. Currently, Alessa is a student at Cherokee Trail High School and she will graduate in 2024.
