Currently, Alyssa is a student at Cartersville High School and she will graduate from high school in 2021. When she has time outside of gymnastics, she enjoys listening to music, singing, dancing and spending time with her family and friends.

Alyssa started gymnastics at the age of three at the Cartersville Parks and Recreation Center. At the end of that session, her mom wanted to give other activities a try, so she then began to study ballet at Kelly’s School of Dance. After one dance recital, Alyssa asked if she could return to gymnastics, because she liked it much more than dance. She immediately returned to gymnastics, and at the age of four, Alyssa was referred to the Cartersville Gymnastics Team where she attended an individual tryout with the uneven bars coach and was asked to the join the team. Due to the time commitment obligation, she remained in the recreation program. The following season, the coaches strongly encouraged that she joined the team. At the age of five, Alyssa competed at her first gymnastics competition with Cartersville Twisters Gymnastics. From that day forward, she has continued in the sport of gymnastics.

In 2015 as a level 7 gymnast, Alyssa finished fourth in the all-around, second on uneven bars and third on vault at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 8 Championships where she placed fourth in the all-around with a 37.875 and first on vault. Alyssa moved up to level 8 for the 2016 season. She placed sixth in the all-around and second on balance beam at the State Championships. At the Region 8 Championships, Alyssa finished fifth in the all-around with a 37.425 and first on vault.

Following her level 8 season in 2016, Alyssa moved to Gymnastics Academy of Atlanta in Kennesaw, GA. She competed as a level 9 gymnast in 2017 where she placed sixth in the all-around and fifth on floor exercise at the State Championships. At the Region 8 Championships, she placed in the top ten in the all-around and fourth on uneven bars. She was an alternate for the Level 9 Eastern Nationals.

In 2018 as a first-year level 10 gymnast, Alyssa placed ninth in the all-around and ninth on vault and balance beam at the Region 8 Championships. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Cincinnati, OH. In 2019, Alyssa placed fourth in the all-around with a 37.400 and second on vault and floor exercise at the State Championships. At the Region 8 Championships, she finished first on floor exercise. Alyssa qualified to the 2020 Level 10 State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Alyssa trains over 18 hours per week at Gymnastics Academy of Atlanta in Kennesaw, GA under coaches Jacobo Giron and Elena Pankratova. She is working hard to qualify to the Junior Olympic Nationals the next few years. Her long-term goal is to obtain a college gymnastics scholarship.
