Amanda began her gymnastics career at Parkettes National Gymnastics Center in Allentown, PA when she was three years old. She was the 2012 Level 5 PA State Balance Beam Bronze Medalist and 2013 Level 6 PA State Floor Exercise Champion. Following her level 6 season, she moved to Force Gymnastics in Nazareth, PA.

Amanda placed fifth on floor exercise at the 2014 Level 7 State Championships, fourth on floor exercise at the 2015 Level 8 State Championships, fourth on balance beam at the 2016 Level 9 State Championships and sixth in the all-around at the 2017 Level 9 State Championships. She qualified to Region 7 Championships in level 8 in 2015 and level 9 in 2016 and 2017. Amanda qualified to the 2018 Level 9 Eastern Nationals after finishing sixth in the all-around with a 37.125 and fourth on balance beam at the 2018 Region 7 Championships. At the Eastern Nationals, she placed fourth on floor exercise with a 9.300.

In the summer of 2018, Amanda and her family relocated to North Carolina, so she started training at Gymnastics and More in Little River, SC. She earned a bronze medal on uneven bars at the 2019 Level 10 State Championships. Amanda received Hardest Worker award at the Beach Break Gymnastics Camp in 2018 and 2019. Amanda was unable to finish the 2020 season due to cOVID-19 pandemic. Her season was highlighted with a 9.500 on floor exercise at the Charleston Cup, qualifying to the event finals.

In 2021, Amanda placed second in the all-around and second on balance beam at the Level 10 State Championships. She qualified to the Region 8 Championships. In June 2021, Amanda and her family relocated to Bradenton, FL, so she began training at Lakewood Ranch Gymnastics.

When Amanda isn't busy training over 18 hours each week in the gym, she enjoys going to the beach. She is the daughter to Suzanne and William Bernhard and has two brothers, Butch and Brian. Amanda is an honor student at West Brunswick High School and she will graduate in 2022. She was ranked sixth in her class during her junior year in high school in North Carolina. She earned a Junior Marshall Award for being in the top ten in her class.
