Ashley Lane was born on August 1, 2002 in Carrollton, TX to Brad and Christie Lane. She has a twin sister, Hailey (level 9 rhythmic gymnast) and an older brother, Hunter (hockey player). Ashley is an honor student at Texas Connections Academy and she will graduate from high school in 2021. When Ashley has time outside of gymnastics, she enjoys hanging out with her family and friends, watching movies and playing with her dog, Savvy.

Ashley started gymnastics when she was three years old in Tot Classes. She enjoyed recreational classes and power tumbling classes until she joined team at Kurt Thomas Gymnastics as a level 4 gymnast at the age of seven. At the 2010 Level 4 North Texas State Championships, she finished fifth in the all-around with a 37.700 and third on floor exercise. Ashley placed third in the all-around with a 38.425, first on balance beam and second on uneven bars at the 2011 Level 5 State Championships. As a level 6 gymnast in 2012, Ashley finished first in the all-around with a 38.800 and first on uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise.

In 2013, Ashley moved up to level 7 where she placed second in the all-around with a 38.525, first on uneven bars and second on floor exercise at the State Championships. As a level 8 gymnast in 2014, Ashley placed seventh in the all-around with a 38.375 and fifth on uneven bars at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 3 Championships where she placed fourth in the all-around with a 38.200 and third on floor exercise. Ashley placed in America's Top 100 every season between level 4 and level 8.

Ashley was unable to compete in 2015 due to an injury but came back strong as a level 10 gymnast in 2016. She placed seventh in the all-around with a 36.825, third on uneven bars and fifth on balance beam at the State Championships. Following the State Championships, Ashley moved to Metroplex Gymnastics and decided to forego Regionals to focus on the 2017 season.

During Ashley's 2017 season, she had a strong season with five meets earning podium medals. At the State Championships, she took gold medals on uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around. At the Region 3 Championships, Ashley placed second on floor exercise and was a Junior Olympic National alternate. Ashley was named to America's Top 100 on balance beam (3x), floor exercise (2x) and in the all-around. Ashley had a great 2018 season. At the beginning of the season, she qualified to the Nastia LIukin Supergirl Cup in Chicago, IL where she placed seventh on uneven bars and eighth on balance beam in the senior division. At the Level 10 State Championships, Ashley placed first in the all-around with a 38.775 and first on uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise. Ashley finished third in the all-around with a 37.700 and second on uneven bars and floor exercise at the Region 3 Championships. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Cincinnati, OH, finishing sixth on balance beam and 11th on vault. Ashley was named to America's Top 100 again on balance beam (2x), floor exercise and in the all-around.

In 2020, Ashley qualified to the Level 10 State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic.

Ashley trains over 30 hours per week at Metroplex Gymnastics in Allen, TX under coaches Marnie Futch and Gina Logan-Quinlan. She would like to become an elite gymnast as well as to obtain a Division I college gymnastics scholarship.
