Athena was always so small and feisty when she was a toddler. When she turned five years old, her dad thought gymnastics would be her thing, so she took gymnastics classes at Clovis Academy. She quickly outgrew it and wanted more, so she moved to V-Force Elite Gymnastics in Madera, CA and she has been there ever since. Athena was the 2013 Level 3 NorCal State All-Around and Uneven Bars Champion and 2014 Level 4 NorCal State Floor Exercise Champion. Athena was named to America's Top 100 on floor exercise in level 3.

In 2016, Athena quickly moved up to level 7 after skipping level 6. She placed third on balance beam and fourth in the all-around at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 1 Championships, finishing seventh on floor exercise and eighth on balance beam. As a level 8 gymnast in 2017, Athena placed second on vault and fourth in the all-around with a 37.100 at the State Championships. At the Region 1 Championships, she finished fourth in the all-around with a 37.025, second on floor exercise and third on balance beam.

Athena competed level 9 for the next two seasons. In 2018, Athena placed fourth on vault and floor exercise at the State Championships, qualifying to Regionals. Athena did well in 2019 where she earned a bronze medal on balance beam at the Level 9 State Championships. At the Region 1 Championships, Athena finished eighth in the all-around, fourth on vault and sixth on floor exercise. She qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals in Spokane, WA where she placed sixth in the all-around with a 37.075, second on vault, fifth on floor exercise and sixth on balance beam.

Athena qualified to the 2020 Level 10 State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic. In April 2021, Athena moved to Central California Gymnastics (CCGI) in Visalia, CA. Athena qualified and competed at the Region 1 Championships. In 2022, Athena placed fifth in the all-around and fourth on balance beam at the State Championships and 12th overall and fifth on balance beam with a 9.525 at the Region 1 Championships. Athena qualified to the Level 10 National Championships as a balance beam specialist.
