When Ava was four years old, she took a class at her birthday party and she asked her mom if she could continue taking more gymnastics classes. She started her competitive gymnastics career at National Elite Gymnastics in Austin, TX. She was named to America's Top 100 on floor exercise in level 4 and balance beam in level 7. Following her level 7 season, she moved to Powerhouse TNT Gymnastics in San Antonio, TX. She was the 2018 Level 8 Texas State Vault, Balance Beam and All-Around Champion (38.125). At the 2018 Region 3 Championships, Ava placed first on vault and second on uneven bars.

As a level 9 gymnast, Ava qualified to the State Championships and Region 3 Championships. However, she broke her ankle and could not heal in time to compete post-season. In the summer of 2019, Ava started training at Austin Elite Gymnastics in Lakeway, TX. Ava competed level 10 for the 2020 season where she qualified to the State Championships. Unfortunately, her season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

When Ava isn't busy training 20 hours each week in the gym, she enjoys volunteering at animal shelter, photography and water sports, particularly wakeboarding. Currently, Ava lives in Austin, TX with her parents, Melinda and Jason, one sister, Maddi, a brother, Ethan, two cats and two dogs. Ava is an honor student at Dripping Springs High School and she will graduate in 2022.
