"This past weekend I began my meet season at the Starstruck Invitational — my first in-person meet in over two years. I placed 4th all-around with a 36.9 in the Senior A division. It was so exciting to be back at a live competition! I placed 5th on vault with a 9.275 and 3rd on uneven bars with a 9.125. I have been working hard to improve balance beam and it paid off with a 9.525 for 3rd place. I placed 4th on floor exercise and I qualified for event finals on vault and balance beam. Most importantly, I am very happy with this solid start to my season and I look forward to getting stronger and progressing over the next few months." - Ava

"When I look back on this time last year I was just returning to the gym after being out for almost 8 months! Between pandemic closings and recovering from my hip labrum repair, I had ALOT OF HARD WORK ahead of me. The 2020-2021 season did not go as I hoped, but the months of training, perseverance, and patience paid off. When others may have quit, I forged ahead and I am SO EXCITED about competing a full season healthy, strong and mentally tough. Thanks for staying with me and for all the support! Wishing all gymnasts a great 2021-2022 season!" - Ava

"Hello and happy Spring! Yesterday I competed at states. I placed 1st on vault with a 9.5 and came in 2nd on bars and 3rd on beam. I am always looking for ways to improve and use each meet to grow and move forward. I am now looking ahead to regionals and getting back to my level of gymnastics pre-Covid. It has taken longer than I expected, but I am committed to myself and to my sport!" - Ava

"I was so happy to get back to practice on March 2, 2020. The COVID-19 outbreak meant my gym had to close only two weeks after I returned. However, I was able to front tumble and swing bars and start getting back to myself. I am lucky to have great coaches. They have set up in-home conditioning via Zoom 6 hours per week while the gym is closed." - Ava

"Now that I have full range of motion again I am working on flexibility in physical therapy and getting stronger everyday with my trainer. I am homeschooled so my classes continue and I am focusing on my academics. I am now in the Kappa Rho chapter of the Homeschool National Honor Society. I am feeling very positive and mentally strong and will be ready to give 150% when the gym reopens. Stay safe everyone!" - Ava

"Hello! I am healing great and the doctor is really impressed with my progress. I am in physical therapy twice per week and doing my PT exercises every day to regain my full range of motion. I am still working with my trainer three times per week on upper body and lower body. I am excited to get back to the gym and am cheering on my teammates." - Ava

"Hi everyone! On December 23, 2019 I had a successful arthroscopic surgery on my left hip. I’m really upset to miss the meet season, but I wanted to have the procedure as soon as possible and begin recovery so I can get back to my very best gymnastics. I was in some pain on the first night, but now I am up and walking and have already been to my first physical therapy session. Happy New Year!" - Ava
