Ava-Marie's parents enrolled her into gymnastics when she was three years old because she was a "jumping bean." She began her gymnastics career at Roswell Gymnastics in Roswell, GA. Her family relocated to North Carolina in 2015, so she began training at Team Attraction Gymnastics (TAG) in Apex, NC and has been there ever since. Ava-Marie was the 2017 Level 6 NC State Vault Champion and All-Around Bronze Medalist with a 37.725. She qualified to the Region 8 Championships where she placed sixth in the all-around and fourth on vault.

In 2018, Ava-Marie skipped level 7 and quickly moved up to level 8. She finished sixth in the all-around with a 37.200 at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 8 Championships, finishing second in the all-around with a 37.325 and fourth on floor exercise. Ava-Marie continued competing level 8 in 2019 where she finished sixth in the all-around with a 37.425 and second on uneven bars at the State Championships. At the Region 8 Championships, Ava-Marie took home a gold medal on uneven bars.

Ava-Marie moved up to level 9 for the 2020 season. She qualified to the State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, she took home gold medals on uneven bars and in the all-around with a 38.000, a silver medal on vault and a bronze medal on balance beam at the Level 9 State Championships. At the Region 8 Championships, Ava-Marie finished first on uneven bars, balance beam and in the all-around with a 38.175. This qualified her to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals in College Park, GA where she placed 12th overall, first on uneven bars and fourth on vault.

As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2022, Ava-Marie placed second in the all-around with a 37.675 and first on vault at the Region 8 Championships. She qualified to the Level 10 National Championships in Mesa, AZ where she finished fifth on vault with a 9.675 out of 56 gymnasts. In 2023, Ava-Marie placed third in the all-around with a 37.800 and second on uneven bars at the Region 8 Championships. She qualified to the Level 10 National Championships in Oklahoma City, OK where she took home a bronze medal on uneven bars with a 9.850.

When Ava-Marie isn't busy training over 20 hours each week in the gym, she enjoys playing ukulele. Currently, Ava-Marie is an honor student at Green Level High School and she will graduate in 2025. She attended Montessori School for 11 years, between ages 3-14.
