Capri Gavino was born on December 19, 2002 in Northern California. Capri is a student at Dublin High School and she will graduate in 2021. During Capri's spare time, she enjoys many hobbies including baking, golfing, archery, traveling, calligraphy, piano and puzzles.

Capri went to watch her sister at her tumbling class and she saw these girls doing flips. All she knew was she wanted to do it too. She started taking gymnastics classes at West Coast Olympic Gymnastics Academy in Pleasanton, CA when she was seven years old. In 2012, she moved to California Gymnastics Academy in Livermore, CA and has been there ever since.

In 2013, Capri placed third in the all-around and first on vault at the Level 4 State Championships. As a level 5 gymnast in 2014, she grabbed gold medals on vault, balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around with a 37.825 at the State Championships. Just five months later, she competed at the 2015 Level 6 State Championships where she won the all-around title with a 38.000. She also placed first on vault, second on uneven bars and balance beam and third on floor exercise.

Capri moved up to level 7 for the 2016 season. She placed second in the all-around with a 37.325 and second on uneven bars and floor exercise at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 1 Championships, finishing first in the all-around with a 38.400 and first on uneven bars and balance beam. Capri had another great season in 2017 where she placed fourth in the all-around with a 37.025, first on uneven bars and second on balance beam at the Level 8 State Championships. She qualified to the Region 1 Championships, finishing second in the all-around with a 37.950 and second on balance beam and floor exercise.

As a level 9 gymnast in 2018, Capri finished fourth in the all-around and second on vault at the State Championships. At the Region 1 Championships, she won the all-around title with a 37.800 and also earned gold medals on vault and uneven bars. She qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals in Salt Lake City, UT where she finished impressive second in the all-around with a 37.775. She also placed second on vault, fourth on uneven bars, sixth on balance beam and ninth on floor exercise. Capri was named to America's Top 100 on vault. Capri had another great level 9 season in 2019! She grabbed gold medals on vault, uneven bars and in the all-around with a 37.725 at the State Championships. At the Region 1 Championships, she placed third in the all-around and third on vault and balance beam. She qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals in Spokane, WA, finishing fourth in the all-around and fourth on vault and balance beam.

Capri trains 20-25 hours per week at California Gymnastics Academy in Livermore, CA under coaches Rod Radunzel and Jennifer Battaglia. Her long-term goal is to compete for a Division I college gymnastics team.
