Cassie followed her older sister into gymnastics when she was two years old. She began her competitive gymnastics career at New Image Gymnastics Academy in New York where she trained until 2013. Following her 2013 season, Cassie moved to Phoenix Gymnastics in New York. She was the 2011 Level 5 New York State Balance Beam Champion and All-Around and Floor Exercise Silver Medalist, 2012 Level 6 New York Balance Beam Bronze Medalist, 2013 Level 7 New York Balance Beam Silver Medalist and 2014 Level 7 New York State Uneven Bars Champion and All-Around Silver Medalist.
In 2015 as a level 8 gymnast, Cassie placed sixth in the all-around and third on uneven bars at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 6 Championships, finishing eighth in the all-around and fourth on balance beam. Cassie competed level 9 for the next three years. She placed fifth on balance beam at the 2016 State Championships, eighth on balance beam at the 2016 Region 6 Championships, seventh on balance beam at the 2017 State Championships and eighth on floor exercise at the 2017 Region 6 Championships. In 2018, Cassie qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals after finishing sixth in the all-round and second on balance beam at the Region 6 Championships.
Following her level 9 season, Cassie moved to Apex Athletics in St. James, NY. As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2019, Cassie earned a bronze medal on balance beam at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 6 Championships but was unable to compete due to newly diagnosis of Type 1 Diabetes days before. In 2020, she qualified to the State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic.
Cassie is the daughter to Christine and Daniel Bergin and she has two brothers, two sisters and two dogs. When Cassie isn't busy training over 20 hours each week in the gym, she enjoys playing the flute. Currently, she is an honor student at East Islip High School and she will graduate in 2021. She is a member of Music Honors Society, Foreign Language Honors Society and Girls Leadership and is the manager of her high school varsity gymnastics team.
