Danae started her gymnastics career as a participant in the “One, Two, and You” class at her local recreation center. She continued the beginner classes and was invited to participate on the Sportsplex Gymnastics competitive pre-team at the age of four. At the time, Danae was also participating as a “Tynamite” on the Maryland Cheer Explosion All-Star Cheerleading Team. Due the scheduling conflicts, Danae had to make a choice between the two. Danae chose gymnastics. She started competing as a level 4 gymnast at the age of six. She was the 2011 Level 5 Maryland State Vault Champion. She skipped level 6 to compete at level 7.
At level 8, Danae was the 2014 Maryland State All-Around and Balance Beam Champion and went on to compete at the Region 7 Championships. Level 9 began a period of transition for Danae. She grew over a foot, and she transitioned to a new gymnastics team to follow her longtime coach, Grace Ortiz to Silver Stars Gymnastics. Despite all of the challenges, Danae still has such a passion for the sport. She continues to follow every gymnast on the collegiate, as well as, the professional level, and she tirelessly continues to work toward her goal of being a college gymnast.
