When Kalea was six years old, her parents put her into a recreational gymnastics program in a local gym where she could have some fun and learn new skills. Her parents quickly realized that Kalea had a real talent so they switched to All-Stars Gymnastics in Levittown, NY. Upon trying out for placement in their classes, they immediately invited Kalea to be a member of their USAG level 4 team. They gladly accepted and she has never looked back. Her love for the sport was evident at this early age and has only continued to grow over the years.

Kalea placed fourth in the all-around with a 37.350 at the 2015 Level 5 State Championships and second in the all-around with a 37.425 at the 2016 Level 6 State Championships. As a level 7 gymnast in 2016, Kalea placed third in the all-around with a 37.425 and first on floor exercise with a 9.600 at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 6 Championships, finishing first in the all-around with a 37.700 and first on uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise. Kalea competed level 8 in 2017 where she placed fifth in the all-around with a 37.350, second on vault and fifth on balance beam. She qualified to the Region 6 Championships, finishing fifth on balance beam and sixth on uneven bars.

In 2018 as a level 9 gymnast, Kalea placed fourth on balance beam at the State Championships. At the Region 6 Championships, she finished sixth in the all-around and second on floor exercise. She qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals in Rochester, NY where she placed sixth on balance beam. Following her 2018 season, she moved to Infiniti Elite Gymnastics in Syosset, NY. Kalea moved up to level 10 for the 2019 season. She placed fifth in the all-around and third on uneven bars at the State Championships. At the Region 6 Championships, she earned a silver medal on floor exercise.

In 2020, Kalea was unable to compete in the post-season due to COVID-19 pandemic. Her 2020 season was highlighted with a 37.575 (First place AA) at the ENA Invitational and 37.100 (First place AA) at the Tim Rand Invitational. In 2021, Kalea had a great season! She placed second in the all-around with a 38.075 and first on uneven bars at the Level 10 State Championships. At the Region 6 Championships, she took home gold medals on vault, balance beam, floor exercise and in the all-around with a 37.950. This qualified Kalea to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Daytona Beach, FL where she placed sixth in the all-around with a 38.000 and second on uneven bars out of 57 gymnasts!

Kalea had a great 2022 season where she placed second in the all-around and first on uneven bars at the State Championships. At the Region 6 Championships, she grabbed gold medals on uneven bars, floor exercise and in the all-around with a 37.475. She qualified to the Level 10 National Championships in Mesa, AZ where she placed ninth in the all-around with a 38.125, sixth on uneven bars and tenth on balance beam out of 57 gymnasts.

Kalea trains 25 hours per week at Infiniti Elite Gymnastics in Syosset, NY under coach Tammy Marshall. She is working hard to qualify to the Junior Olympic Nationals and to become an elite gymnast. Her long-term goal is to obtain a Division I college gymnastics scholarship.
