Karina started gymnastics in 2006, when she was about two years old. She started gymnastics after watching her older sister taking a gymnastics class at Head Over Heels Gymnastics. She was always super excited to watch her sister doing gymnastics through the large windows in the lobby and would often try to mimic what she saw. So, her mom signed Karina up for the only class she could take, called Mommy and Me class. She loved it! Her instructor was amazed that she was able to do things that she should not be able to do yet because of her age.

Once she turned three years old in 2007, Karina was quickly invited to take more advanced classes and at four years old in 2008, she joined the pre-team. Her excitement and love of gymnastics continued and she loved going to practice. In 2009, at the age of five, they moved Karina to the level 4 team. Though she trained with the team, she was unable to compete because she was not six years old yet! In October of 2010, Karina competed in her first level 4 competition, “Shining Stars” and earned first place on each event and in the all-around with a 37.900. She ended her season at the Level 4 State Championships winning vault, uneven bars and the all-around titles with a 38.875. Karina was named to America's Top 100 on balance beam with a 9.725.

In 2012, Karina placed second in the all-around with a 37.600 and second on uneven bars and floor exercise at the State Championships. She moved up to level 6 for the 2013 season where she placed second in the all-around with a 37.825, first on vault and floor exercise and second on balance beam. As a level 7 gymnast in 2014, Karina placed fourth in the all-around with a 37.950 and second on floor exercise with a 9.650 at the State Championships. She moved up to level 8 for the 2015 season where she finished fourth in the all-around with a 37.975 and second on vault at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 7 Championships. Karina did well in level 9 for the 2016 season, finishing fourth on vault and fifth on uneven bars at the State Championships. She placed fifth in the all-around and third on vault at the Region 7 Championships. She qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals where she placed in the top ten on uneven bars.

Karina moved up to level 10 for the 2017 season. She placed seventh on vault with a 9.400 at the State Championships, qualifying to the Region 7 Championships. In 2018, she placed ninth on vault at the State Championships. At the Region 7 Championships, Karina won the vault title with a 9.725. Karina placed fourth in the all-around and first on vault at the 2019 State Championships and 2019 Region 7 Championships. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Indianapolis, IN where she won the vault title with a 9.800. Karina qualified to the 2020 Level 10 State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2021, Karina grabbed gold medals on vault, uneven bars, balance beam and in the all-around with a 38.250. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals after finishing eighth in the all-around and first on vault at the Region 7 Championships. At the Nationals in Daytona Beach, FL, Karina did well, finishing 12th overall with a 37.875 out of 57 gymnasts! She also placed seventh on vault and balance beam.

Karina trains 22-25 hours per week at Head Over Heels Gymnastics in Parlin, NJ under coaches Toni Borden & Sonny Smoljan. She is working hard to qualify to the Junior Olympic Nationals. Her long-term goal is to obtain a Division I college gymnastics scholarship.
