Kayla Pardue was born on September 16, 2003 in Colorado to Amy and Jaymes Pardue. She has a brother, Elijah and a sister, Lillia. Currently, Kayla is a student at Collegiate Academy of Colorado and she will graduate in 2022. During Kayla's spare time, she enjoys knitting, drawing, singing and being outdoors. She has donated knitting hats for premature babies.

Kayla started recreational gymnastics as a preschooler because she would always flip around and use the window sill as a balance beam. She moved to competitive gymnastics when she was nine years old. She competed level 4 in 2013, level 5 in 2014 and level 6 in 2015. As a level 7 gymnast in 2015, Kayla placed fifth in the all-around with a 37.550 and second on uneven bars with a 9.700 at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 3 Championships where she finished seventh on vault with a 9.525.

In 2018, Kayla moved up to level 8 where she placed second in the all-around with a 38.100 and first on vault with a 9.725 at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, Kayla finished third in the all-around with a 37.525 and first on vault, uneven bars an floor exercise. Kayla was named to America's Top 100 on vault. Kayla did well in level 9 in 2018. She finished second in the all-around and first on floor exercise at the State Championships. At the Region 3 Championships, she placed seventh in the all-around with a 37.300 and fourth on vault. Kayla qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals in Salt Lake City, UT, finishing ninth in the all-around with a 37.550 and third on vault. Kayla was named to America's Top 100 on vault and floor exercise.

As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2019, Kayla placed third in the all-around and first on vault with a 9.9 at the State Championships. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals after finishing 11th overall, first on vault with a 9.9 and seventh on floor exercise at the Region 3 Championships. She earned a bronze medal on vault at the Junior Olympic Nationals in Indianapolis, IN. She was named to America's Top 100 on vault twice. Kayla qualified to the 2020 Level 10 State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2021, Kayla placed seventh in the all-around and first on vault at the State Championships. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Daytona Beach, FL after finishing seventh in the all-around and fifth on vault at the Region 3 Championships. At the Nationals, she placed 11th on vault with a 9.700 out of 57 gymnasts.

Kayla trains 34 hours per week at Active Athletics in Littleton, CO under coach Marcelo Figueiredo. She hopes to continue the sport she loves in college.
