Kiara started taking gymnastics classes at the age of three with her older sister at Valley Gymnastics in Utica, NY and has been there ever since! She began competing level 4 in 2011 at the age of six. As a level 7 gymnast in 2014, Kiara placed sixth on balance beam with a 9.450 at the State Championships. Kiara moved up to level 8 for the 2016 season where she placed third in the all-around, second on balance beam and third on uneven bars at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 6 Championships, finishing sixth in the all-around and fourth on balance beam.

Kiara moved up to level 9 for the 2017 season. She placed fourth in the all-around, second on balance beam and fourth on uneven bars at the Region 6 Championships and qualified to the Level 9 Eastern Nationals. Kiara continued competing level 9 in 2018 where she earned a silver medal on uneven bars at the Region 6 Championships. As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2019, Kiara qualified to the State Championships. In 2021, Kiara placed second on uneven bars at the Level 10 State Championships and qualified to the Region 6 Championships.

When Kiara isn't busy training over 20 hours each week in the gym, she enjoys swimming, playing with her dogs and younger siblings and long boarding. Kiara is the daughter to Anne Sahm and Mekchone Khiamdavanh. Currently, Kiara is an honor student at Whitesboro High School and she will graduate from high school in 2023. She is a member of her high school gymnastics team where she helped the team to win the New York State Championships twice. Kiara is also a member of her high school symphonic band playing clarinet.
