Kiera started gymnastics in 2014 at the age of seven. She was involved in multiple activities such as cheer, dance and track. Kiera decided that she wanted to start taking tumbling classes so that she could learn how to turn flips. After one year of tumbling, Kiera wanted to try recreational gymnastics just for fun. They visited Houston Gymnastics Academy (HGA) to try out for the recreational group to see which group she would be a part of. After tryouts, one of the coaches approached Kiera's mom and said that Kiera was too advanced for recreational gymnastics and they wanted her to be part of the women’s team. Kiera accepted the invite and started as a level 3 gymnast for her first year of gymnastics at HGA. She then changed gyms to World Champion Center in Spring, TX to compete as a level 6 gymnast under coaches Terry and Tamara Walker.
