Kyrstin would be flipping and doing somersaults throughout the house or any place that she had space. She had been flipping so often since the age of three, she eventually taught herself how to do a back flip. She loved doing these gymnastics type routines all the time and she never wanted another kid to outperform her. This energy was displayed when her parents placed her into cheerleading with Ellicot City Patriots. The coaches could not believe at five years old how fearless she was and how athletic she was. People were so floored that her parents decided to put her into gymnastics at a local gym.

Kyrstin began competing level 4 in 2016 where she placed second in the all-around and first on vault at the State Championships. She skipped levels 5 and 6 and quickly moved up to level 7 for the 2017 season. She finished fourth in the all-around and third on uneven bars at the State Championships. As a level 8 gymnast in 2018, Kyrstin finished fourth in the all-around and third on balance beam at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 7 Championships where she finished fourth in the all-around with a 37.325 and third on vault.

In 2019 as a level 9 gymnast, Kyrstin qualified to the State Championships but was unable to compete due to an injury. Following her 2019 season, she moved to Docksiders Gymnastics in Millersville, MD. Kyrstin moved up to level 10 for the 2021 season. She placed third on vault and fifth on uneven bars and balance beam at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 7 Championships, finishing fifth on balance beam and sixth on floor exercise.

In 2022, Kyrstin placed first on uneven bars, second on vault and fourth in the all-around at the Level 10 State Championships. She qualified to the Region 7 Championships, finishing fifth on uneven bars, seventh on vault and 11th overall.

When Kyrstin isn't busy training 20 hours each week in the gym, she enjoys Tik Tok, art, circuit designs, singing and dancing. She is the daughter to Howard and Scharon Johnson and she has a brother, Korey and a dog named Blossom. Currently, Kyrstin is a student at Ogburn Private Online School and she will graduate from high school in 2023.
