Lucy started in pre-school recreational classes at a local gym in Austin, TX with she was four years old because she was always tumbling around the house. At the beginning of Lucy's gymnastics career, she trained at Champions Gymnastics in Westlake, TX. She was the 2014 Level 4 Texas State Floor Exercise Champion & All-Around Bronze Medalist (37.675), 2015 Level 5 Texas State Floor Exercise Champion & All-Around Silver Medalist (38.350) and 2016 Level 6 Texas State Balance Beam and Floor Exercise Champion & All-Around Bronze Medalist (37.975). Lucy was named to America's Top 100 on floor exercise (L5, L6) and all-around (L5).

As a level 7 gymnast in 2017, Lucy placed second in the all-around with a 38.400, first on floor exercise and second on balance beam at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 3 Championships where she placed fourth on vault and fifth on floor exercise. Lucy was named to America's Top 100 on floor exercise in level 7. Lucy moved up to level 8 for the 2018 season. She finished fourth on floor exercise and fifth on vault at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 3 Championships, finishing fifth in the all-around with a 37.500 and fourth on balance beam. Lucy moved to Austin Elite Gymnastics in January 2019. As a level 9 gymnast in 2020, Lucy qualified to the State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022 as a first-year level 10 gymnast, Lucy qualified to the State Championships.

When Lucy has time outside of gymnastics, she enjoys volunteering with National Charity League, photography and hanging out with her friends. She is the daughter to Jonathan and Jeanette Grigsby and she has a younger sister, Ellie and two golden retrievers. Currently, Lucy is an honor student at AESA Prep Academy and she will graduate in 2023.
