Mackenzie Aresta was born on March 3, 2002 in New Brunswick, NJ to Frank and Jen Aresta. She has an older sister, Corina, a younger brother, Giovanni and a younger sister, Bella. Currently, Mackenzie is enrolled in all Honors classes at Old Bridge High School and she will graduate from high school in 2020. When Mackenzie has time outside of gymnastics, she enjoys reading and running.

Mackenzie took an acro jazz class at dance and everyone said she should try gymnastics. So, her mom signed up Mackenzie for a recreational class when she was six years old. After the second class she attended, the recreational coaches introduced Mackenzie to the head coach, Toni Borden Toni invited her to join the gymnastics team and has been there ever since.

Mackenzie made the National TOPs "B" team in the fall of 2012. As a level 7 gymnast in 2013, Mackenzie finished in the top ten in the all-around, vault and floor exercise at the State Championships. She quickly moved up to level 8 for the 2014 season where she placed fourth in the all-around with a 38.025, fourth on vault, fifth on floor exercise and sixth on uneven bars at the State Championships. Mackenzie qualified to the Region 7 Championships where she placed 12th in the all-around with a 37.425.

In 2015, Mackenzie competed as a level 9 gymnast. She placed seventh in the all-around with a 36.900 and fourth on vault at the State Championships. At the Region 7 Championships, she finished ninth in the all-around with a 36.800, sixth on floor exercise and eighth on vault. She was the second alternate for the Level 9 Eastern Nationals. MacKenzie moved up to level 10 for the 2016 season. She finished third on vault and fourth on floor exercise at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 7 Championships where she placed 12th in the all-around, third on vault and seventh on floor exercise.

MacKenzie finished eighth in the all-around, sixth on balance beam and seventh on vault and floor exercise at the State Championships. At the Region 7 Championships, she placed sixth on floor exercise and seventh on vault.

Mackenzie trains 22 hours per week at Head Over Heels Gymnastics in Parlin, NJ under coaches Toni Borden and Sonny Smoljan. Mackenzie is working hard to become a successful level 10 gymnast, qualify to the JO Nationals and to obtain a Division I college gymnastics scholarship.
