Madelyn Manternach was born on August 19, 2003 in Wisconsin to Mark and Lindsay Manternach. She has three brothers, Riley, Oliver and William and a sister, Olivia. Currently, Madelyn is an honor student at Pacelli Catholic High School and she will graduate in 2022. During Madelyn's spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her friends, weight lifting, studying in school, shopping and playing with her little brothers.

Madelyn's mom was a college gymnast and her great aunt is a brevet judge. So, she naturally followed her mom's footsteps into gymnastics after teaching herself a handstand in the backyard. She started her competitive gymnastics career at Oshkosh Gymnastics where they drove over an hour each way. When she was at Oshkosh, she had successful seasons in level 5, 6 and 7. Her level 7 average all-around score was a 37.256 in 2014. Due to long commute, Madelyn briefly trained at Chow's Gymnastics in Iowa. She was was one of the three girls that the coach chose from throughout the United States.

“Madelyn is a very Coachable gymnast," - Coach Chow

However, the former Oshkosh coaches opened Russell Gymnastics one mile from Madelyn's house! Therefore, Madelyn moved to Russell Gymnastics and has been there ever since.

“A very hard working, kind gymnast," - Bryon Huff

As a level 8 gymnast in 2015, Madelyn placed fourth on floor exercise with a 9.500 at the State Championships. At the Region 4 Championships, she finished second in the all-around, first on balance beam and second on floor exercise. Madelyn competed level 9 for the next three seasons. She placed second in the all-around and first on vault and floor exercise at the 2018 State Championships. She qualified to the Region 4 Championships where she earned gold medals on vault and floor exercise. Madelyn earned the "Hardest Worker" award at the 2017 Chow's Camp. She also set bench press record for Pacelli High School during the 2018-2019 school year.

In 2019 as a first-year level 10 gymnast, Madelyn finished third in the all-around and first on floor exercise at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 4 Championships, finishing sixth on floor exercise. Madelyn qualified to the 2020 Level 10 State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, Madelyn placed third in the all-around and third on vault, balance beam and floor exercise at the State Championships. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals after finishing eighth in the all-around and sixth on floor exercise at the Region 4 Championships.
