Mari Mohling was born on May 17, 2004 in Minnesota to Nate and Jamie Mohling . She has two sisters, Dayton and Keely, one brother, Reece and two dogs named Maisey and Rory. Currently, Mari is a student at Prior Lake High School and she will graduate in 2022. When Mari has time outside of gymnastics, she enjoys shopping, spending time with her family and playing with her dogs.

Mari started her competitive gymnastics career at IGM Gymnastics in Burnsville, MN. She started competing level 5 at age of 11 in 2015, finishing fifth on vault at the State Championships. She skipped level 6 and moved up to level 7 for the 2016 season where she qualified to the State Championships. In 2017 as a level 8 gymnast, Mari placed first in the all-around with a 37.400 and second on vault and floor exercise at the State Championships. She was on Super 8 Team representing Minnesota at the Region 4 Championships where she placed fifth on vault.

In March of 2018, Mari moved to Classic Gymnastics in Chanhassen, MN. She placed fourth on floor exercise and sixth on balance beam at the State Championships. At the Region 4 Championships, she finished fifth in the all-around and third on floor exercise. Mari qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals in Salt Lake City, UT where she earned a silver medal on floor exercise with a 9.600. In 2019 as a first-year level 10 gymnast, Mari placed fourth on balance beam and sixth in the all-around at the State Championships. She qualified to the Junior Olympic Nationals after finishing fourth in the all-around and first on balance beam at the Region 4 Championships.

In 2020, Mari qualified to the 2020 Level 10 State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic. In November 2020, Mari moved to Revolution Gymnastics in Rogers, MN.

Mari trains 20 hours per week at Revolution Gymnastics in Rogers, MN under coaches Ben and Kristin Tobler. Mari is working hard to reach her goals to qualify to the JO Nationals and to compete for a Division I college gymnastics team.
