Sydney started taking recreational gymnastics at a local gym in Tennessee when she was four years old. She continued with that until her family moved to Japan when she was six years old. After one year in Japan, Sydney and her family relocated to England where Sydney continued to progress with competitive gymnastics at Tyneside Gymnastics. Sydney lived in England for about three years before moving back to Tennessee. She began training at Let it Shine Gymnastics in Tennessee as a level 4 gymnast during the 2016-2017 season.

After just one year of training, Sydney quickly moved up to level 7 for the 2018 season. She was the 2018 Level 7 TN State All-Around (38.100), vault and Floor Exercise Champion. She represented Team Tennessee at the State Championships where she finished ninth overall with a 37.725 and seventh on floor exercise. As a level 8 gymnast in 2019, Sydney finished third in the all-around with a 37.300, first on uneven bars and second on balance beam and floor exercise at the State Championships. She represented Team Tennessee at the Region 8 Championships where she finished 11th overall with a 37.600 and seventh on floor exercise.

Sydney qualified to the 2020 Level 9 TN State Championships but was unable to compete due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Following her 2020 season, she and her family relocated to Minnesota, so Sydney began training at Classic Gymnastics. Sydney placed fourth in the all-around and second on floor exercise at the Level 9 State Championships. At the Region 4 Championships, she placed second in the all-around with a 37.000, second on floor exercise and third on balance beam. She qualified to the Level 9 Western Nationals where she placed ninth in the all-around and eighth on uneven bars.

As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2022, Sydney placed fifth in the all-around and third on floor exercise at the State Championships. At the Region 4 Championships, she finished third on floor exercise, qualifying to the Level 10 National Championships as a floor specialist. In 2023, Sydney placed fourth on uneven bars at the State Championships and sixth in the all-around and fourth on uneven bars at the Region 4 Championships.

When Sydney isn't busy training 20 hours each week in the gym, she enjoys wake surfing, cooking, being outdoors and spending time with her family and friends. She is a student at Southwest Christian High School and she will graduate in 2024.
