Sylvia's parents signed two-year-old Sylvia up for gymnastics classes so she could have a safe place to exercise and have fun at a local gym. Very quickly Sylvia showed an affinity for gymnastics and fell in love with it and it has been her passion ever since. Sylvia has been training at Gymfinity Gymnastics in Fitchburg, WI her whole gymnastics career. She was the 2016 Level 5 WI State All-Around, Uneven Bars and Balance Beam Champion and 2018 Level 7 WI State All-Around, Vault, Balance Beam and Floor Exercise Bronze Medalist.

Sylvia moved up to level 8 for the 2019 season. She placed sixth in the all-around and third on uneven bars and balance beam at the State Championships. She qualified to the Region 4 Championships, finishing seventh in the all-around and fourth on floor exercise. In 2020, Sylvia qualified to the Level 9 State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic. As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2021, Sylvia earned a bronze medal on floor exercise at the State Championships.

Sylvia is the daughter to Jen and Luke Bootz and she has a sister, Lucy, two dogs and two cats. Currently, she is an honor student at Madison West High School and she will graduate in 2023. She is a member of her high school dance team where she created many of the choreographies for the team.
