Vanessa was five years old when Vanessa's mom put her and her twin brother in a gymnastics camp class for a summer. She fell in love with the sport and began training at Precision Gymnastics in New Jersey. Following her level 4 season, she moved to Rock Gymnastics in New Jersey. She placed fifth in the all-around and second on uneven bars at the 2018 Level 5 State Championships. She moved up to level 6 for the 2019 season, qualifying to the State Championships.
In 2020, Vanessa qualified to the Level 7 State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic. She moved up to level 8 for the 2021 season, finishing sixth on vault at the Region 7 Championships.
When Vanessa isn't busy training 18 hours each week in the gym, she enjoys spending time with her friends and going to the beach. She is the daughter to Lisa and Keith Swistock and she has a twin brother, Keith Jr. and a dog named Molly. Currently, Vanessa is an honor student at Central Regional High School and she will graduate in 2024. She earned MVP for high school gymnastics team during her freshman year.
