Anna Flynn started gymnastics at White Lightening, which is a competitive cheer gym that also had a few recreational gymnastics classes. Anna Flynn was never interested in cheer, always gymnastics. After a few months it was obvious to her mom that gymnastics gave her so much joy and she had a natural talent. Her mom moved her to Everest Gymnastics in North Carolina and she learned skills quickly and began moving up. She had her first gymnastics meet as a level 2 gymnast in October 2013 at the age of seven.

Anna Flynn was the 2015 Level 4 NC State Uneven Bars Champion, 2016 Level 5 NC State All-Around, Vault, Uneven Bars, Balance Beam 7 Floor Exercise Silver Medalist and 2017 Level 7 NC State Uneven Bars Silver Medalist and 2017 Level 7 Regional Vault & Balance Beam Champion and All-Around Silver Medalist. Anna Flynn moved up to level 8 for the 2018 season where she grabbed gold medals on vault and in the all-around with a 38.175 at the State Championships. She was named to North Carolina State team for Region 8 Championships. At the Regionals, she placed first in the all-around with a 38.475 and second on vault and uneven bars. She was named to America's Top 100 on floor exercise and in the all-around (2x).

Anna Flynn moved up to level 9 for the 2019 season. She took home gold medals on uneven bars and in the all-around with a 37.500 at the Level 9 State Championships. She finished in the top 15 in the all-around, second on vault and fifth on balance beam at the Region 8 Championships. As a first-year level 10 gymnast in 2020, Anna Flynn qualified to the Level 10 State Championships but was unable to compete due to COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, she had a great meet at the Level 10 State Championships where she finished third in the all-around with a 37.775 and second on uneven bars. At the Region 8 Championships, Anna Flynn placed ninth overall and fifth on uneven bars and floor exercise. This qualified her to the Junior Olympic Nationals in Daytona Beach, FL where she placed 17th overall and 11th on uneven bars.

In 2022, Anna Flynn placed seventh in the all-around and first on uneven bars with a 9.800 at the Region 8 Championships. She qualified to the Level 10 National Championships in Mesa, AZ where she placed tenth on uneven bars and 12th on floor exercise out of 57 gymnasts. In 2023, Anna Flynn placed sixth in the all-around with a 38.025 and fourth on floor exercise. She qualified to the Level 10 Nationals in Oklahoma City, OK.

When Anna Flynn isn't busy training over 25 hours each week in the gym, she enjoys surfing, swimming (Anything lake and ocean related) and spending time with her friends and family. She loves animals and helps with animal rehabilitation. She does community service through her school with Loaves and Fishes, visiting a local retirement center and other service projects on school grounds. Training takes up majority of her free time while not in school. She has worked very hard to balance school life and training and has been very successful while maintaining straight As. She has been in Duke TIP program since fifth grade and she took the SAT as a rising eighth grader.
